Race Organizers Use QR Codes to Better Meet Runners' Needs

QR codes can be used in various ways to market your products and your business and better connect with your customers. But what if you could use QR codes to improve efficiency and streamline your business? This is what the organizers of the Fifth Third River Bank Run in Grand Rapids, MI, will be doing for this weekend’s race.

Race participants will be able to instantly view their unofficial times at the end of the Race May 11. As soon as they pass the finish line, runners will be able to scan their personal QR code and even share on it social media channels.

In addition to scanning the QR codes at the finish of the race, however, the participants in the 25k who are carrying their phones during the race will be able to scan their QR codes after they cross the timing mats and share their progress online with their friends and family.

The QR codes are a great addition to the race since they will allow the distance runners to communicate with family and friends and share their progress during the race. It will also provide instant results that runners expect.

Does your business hold special events where QR codes could be a great idea? How could you use QR codes to better serve your customers and improve customer communication?
