Keep strangers out of schools with visitor management systems
- Jun 24, 2010
As current events all too often highlight, children are at risk when strangers are free to roam about on school campuses. That's why all schools should be using accurate check-in systems to account for visitors.
In it's most organic form, a visitor management system can consist of a pen and paper sign-in with a time in/time out column. Front-office administration should verify the name with a valid drivers license.
More sophisticated systems include software that tracks visitors, prints school check-in badges and can produce reports for reference.
