Absentee voting this year? It's easy.

Can't make it to the polls on election day?

Absentee voting is proving to be more popular than ever. Whether you're away at college, on a business trip or can't make it to your local precinct, this might be a great option for you. If you're lucky, there might be I voted by mail stickers in it for you.

    • This seems like a given, but to request and receive an absentee ballot in the mail, you have to make sure you are a registered voter

    • Sites like GoVoteAbsentee.org offer a place for you to input your zip code so you can learn the absentee request process for your state. Make sure to enter the zipcode for the area in which you are registered...not where you are going to be on election day

    • Request your ballot by mail, phone or e-mail -- per your state's requirements

    • Once you recieve your ballot in the mail, fill it out and put it back in the mail
