You've spent months designing and anticipating your new labels and they have finally arrived. Unfortunately, there is one final obstacle in your way: you need to apply the new labels to bottles that already have labels on them.

There are technically two ways to adhere your labels to the wine bottles:

  1. Place the new label directly over the previous label or...
  2. Remove the old label and apply the new label in its place.

Applying A Professional-Looking Wine Label

While applying the new labels over the old is sufficient, it is not the best method for achieving professional results.

To produce the most professional-looking wine bottle, you need to first remove the old label. It does not have to be a difficult process, however.

First, Soak the Wine Bottle in Warm, Soapy Water

Fill your wine bottle with hot water and leave it to soak in warm, soapy water for an hour. Your bath tub is likely the most convenient place to soak your bottle, submerged, for an extended period of time.

Soaking Wine Bottle in Soapy Water

After an hour of soaking, the label should come off easily. If it doesn't, you may need to soak it longer, even overnight.

If the label is especially stubborn and will not peel off even after soaking overnight you may need to use a single blade razor to carefully scrape the label away. Use rubbing alcohol to remove any remaining adhesive.

Second, Apply The New Label Smoothly

Carefully apply your new label, starting with the middle and smooth outwards in order to remove any air bubbles.

The end result? High quality custom wine bottle labels printed by LabelValue.com that are guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on anyone who sees them.
