Cant's address longevity or fading since we don't keep them around long enough. These are used on test-tubes and petri-dishes to tell what bacteria or media is inside. They've been a real time saver. Fretted when Dymo de-listed the 30335 from their web site, but thankfully found the Label-Value equal last year.
